Borsmenta, which is a well known Hungarian wine blog, holds a wine test in every month with different grape variety in the spotlight. In May they have tested 18 samples of Hárslevelű from six different wine regions between the vintages of 1995 and 2018.

Our Hárslevelű 2015 came third in this exclusive company and it was the second best sample from our beloved Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region.

About the variety:

Hárslvelű is a genuine grape from the Charpatian Basin, it is the ninth most popular variety in Hungary. It is mostly grown in Mátra hills and Tokaj, but also appears in Eger, Villány, Neszmély and Somló.

It ripes in October and it's skin is very thin. It has a huge potential to get botrytis for aszú wines.
